Fine Arts workshop

For everyone !

This workshop was created in order to offer people accompanying musicians the opportunity to exercise their talents in a field other than music, whilst still being an integral part of the chamber music workshop. A way to share common memories in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

However, it is not necessary to be accompanying a musician to take part in the fine arts workshop. It is open to anyone (adult) who wants to discover the joys of drawing, painting or sculpture, or who would like to improve their techniques in these fields.

Structure of the workshop

The fine arts workshop takes place within the framework of the chamber music workshop (see Practical Information).

Dates and location

From 29 July 2024

To 8 August 2024

in Loches (Indre et Loire, France)

Location: Saint-Denis International School – 19, avenue du Gal de Gaulle – 37600 Loches, France. The entrance is via rue Henri Dunant.

Reception takes place on the first day of the workshop between 5:00 and 7:00pm.

The workshop ends on the morning of the last day.

Programme

The workshop includes 5 hours of lessons per day (excluding rest day), during which the main techniques of drawing, painting or modelling are taught. The official language of the workshop is french, therefore this is the language used in the lessons, although some of the teachers and some participants may be able to help you if you don’t speak french.

An exhibition of the resulting work is organized towards the end of the workshop, generally accompanied by music.

Finally, you are also invited to attend the concerts given by the teachers and participants of the chamber music workshop.

Teacher: Maggy Anciaux, artist, painter and sculptor

After training at the Beaux-Arts of Verviers and Liège in the 80’s, Maggy Anciaux mainly dedicates herself to sculpture but also practices other techniques.

Nature is part of her daily life, she lives in Touraine. Pencils and sketchbooks are always at hand to help her observe and be inspired by nature.
She exhibits in art fairs and festivals both in France and abroad.
Maggy shares her passion by teaching in workshops for adults and children in schools and associations.

Since 2009, within the framework of Musique en Vacances and then Euromusica, she offers drawing, painting and sculpture-modeling workshops.

Different techniques are studied such as drawing, sketching, pastels, watercolor and acrylic painting, sculpture and modelling of clay. Sketching and watercolor sessions are organized in Loches and its beautiful surroundings.

The workshop is tailored to the level of each participant, from beginner to advanced, but always with the pleasure of creating art together.

Themes proposed during previous workshops include “graphics design in life” or “portrait and travel journal”.
